Active Manuka Honey is used as a topical application from many bacterial infections with some excellent results even against the dreaded MRSA which effects millions of people seriously every year. Not surprisingly Manuka Honey has also been proven to be an excellent treatment to Acne with excellent results. Most acne treatments prescribed by the doctor these days work against the skin to dry the skin out up setting the skins natural balance, as well as the body with some alarming side effects.
Acne effects millions of people every year and causes serious problems in peoples lives. Apart from the physical effect it has in appearance it also effects people socially resulting in low self esteem which can stem to many social and confidence problems. Most forms of Acne are caused by bacteria, it results when too much
bacteria enters a pore of the skin and and mixes with the natural sebum of the skin. Teens are especially susceptible to acne due to there growing hormonal changes which causes them to produce more sebum than general adults. With this being an age when the are establishing them selves and a new freedom a setback with acne can cause nervousness and anxieties which can make the problems worse.
Poor diet, poor hygiene, cosmetics, allergies, puberty and stress can all be factors in acne though as stated previously acne is generally caused by bacteria. Pores are an excellent breading ground for bacteria and once the growth gets under way it can difficult to stop.
Manuka honey is an excellent topical treatment for bacteria even just by itself as a face mask will be just as effective and the creams available though some people are put off by the sticky texture though this natural goodness will assisting in drawing out impurities and cleanse the pores of the skin.
Manuka honey is known as an natural moisturiser though it does a lot more than this it has antioxidant properties, its rich in vitamins minerals and natural proteins to help feed and nourish skin. Along side this its an effective anti- bacterial which works with the skin. Honey itself is high in peroxide but Manuka honey contains and extra factor which works against even the toughest of bacteria and because of its texture it draws the infection out of the pore of the skin. This factor is labeled as UMF (unique manuka factor) or though has recently been labelled as MGO (mythol-glyoxal) which is the naturally occurring compound which makes manuka honey effective.
Using Manuka Honey as a topical treatment will be just as effective as using any of the creams around which are available. You will probably find its not as unbearable as you think though it's not the best look in public. There are many Manuka Honey acne creams on the market today which are proving to be very successful with some excellent feed back and you will find the price is quiet pleasant as well. The luxury of using the creams is you can apply and j4t let it soak into the skin for the duration of the day though it is advised to read the label first.
Acne is a very unpleasant skin disorder and effects millions of people everyday with this it is a massive industry for chemical and pharmaceutical companies. If you or one of your loved one is effected by this disorder be vigilant with what the doctor is prescribing and the side effects which are listed or what you feel it may be causing. Trying something like a Manuka Honey cream or the honey alone will more than likely be beneficial and can be used along side these treatments as well.
